The Article Writing Hits Like a Spear

The awakened, enlightened emotions and the suggestive, thoughtful insights are the motivations of a writer. One won't become a writer if he didn't experience that emotion and didn't come up with such ideas. He writes about what he feels and may be creative, subjective or objective, depending on his purpose. His compositions are as powerful as spears. Once you were hit, you will either stop or fight back furiously.

Among his compositions were articles. Although ephemeral, articles were the reason why conflicts often arise and get worse. Everyday issues pop out because people release opinions after reading them. And actually, schools are one of the places where those issues come out.

The newspaper of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (Ang Pamantasan), University of Santo Tomas (The Varsitarian) and Ateneo De Manila (The Guidon) released suggestive, thoughtful and striking articles. Most of theirs were about the undying issue of the 'Ampatuan/Maguindanao Massacre'. Their writers have different styles and most of them were subjective. They talked about the politics, too, since the election will happen sooner. The newspaper 'Ang Pamantasan' has articles about politics only unlike 'The Varsitarian' and 'The Guidon' which included a bit opinions outside that topic. The articles from those newspapers were published last 26th day of January, 2010.

When it comes to writing issues, the three newspapers have their own styles. University of Santo Tomas' (The Varsitarian) is a bit mild but hideously attacking while defending and explaining ideas. The point of view of the writers won't be easily identified by mediocre readers because of different idioms and highfalutin words although it has short articles. Its articles were written well despite those negatives.

The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila's newspaper(Ang Pamantasan) explains clearly. The message can be recognized by the readers immediately although some articles were too long because things were written in details.

The newspaper of Ateneo De Manila University (The Guidon) gave ideas carefully explained and the writers were very observant on the things happening in the society. The writers defended their ideas well and some have entertaining outputs.

As a conclusion, news writing is very risky and hard to do because of its rules and the things that might occur and happen. As a writer, you must explain your ideas well and just like what I have stated, conflicts could arise if your words are so powerful and if you hit something seriously. It can make you insane as well, trying to think how you are going to defend, differentiate, balance, etc. both sides. But that's alright, a writer lives in that way.

All Fell When The Majesty Came

If you were in the place of the II-A BSE ENGLISH students from the University of Makati, you will be totally surprised too about taking up a course which is not officially in the school curriculum. No matter what reasons the students give, none of it is valid. Within the next months, the students should have taken that course.

In fact, most of the students asked "What?!" Some even said that the course is even heavier than their major subjects. It is six units and they must attend the class twice a week for three hours.

AdEPT stands for Advanced English Proficiency Training. A course that's made for future call center agents. Its main objective is to help learners boost their skills in using English as a second language. Speaking, indeed, is the macro skill that is most needed.


Maybe, the fall of Philippines in English language is another reason why ADEPT was built. It could help it regain back its lost glory and I know that that course will be a lot useful. Back then, it used to be the best country in Asia wherein English speakers were seen and heard. Now, India took over its place.

As a conclusion, we will never become professionals if we aren't going to train ourselves. Of course, trials and challenges are part the games of success. We must know how to play and win. Although it is tiring and stressful working so hard, the feeling when you become 'adept' will remove those feelings later.

Presidency is not an Heirloom

MANILA, Philippines-(UPDATE) Don't treat the presidency as "something of a birthright" or an heirloom, a senatorial candidate on Sunday told Senator Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III. Former congressman Gilbert Remulla, who is running under the Senator Manny Villar's ticket this year said. "When you treat the presidency as a family heirloom that you can inherit on a sliver platter then you get unnerved when you read the newsflash that your being president is far from being a done deal," he cleared.

The former congressman looks on what Senator Aquino does in his political life. He reviews all the news and did not like the results that's why he speaks. He even said that Senator Aquino thinks that he has mandate from heaven to rule that he finds to accept the fact that a former fish vendor from Tondo is credibly challenging him, referring to Villar who came second in the survey with 33 percent or just an 11-point difference from Aquino's 44 percent.

Presidency is not an heirloom. Of course it isn't, right? But what can we do if the son of the former president wants to follow her footsteps? That is a different case now.

With the election day nearing, what we must do is think and vote the right person depending on his abilities and with regards to what he deserves.

The Reviving Process in Teaching

Some students seem to be sleepy and unenergetic inside classrooms during class discussions. If not, they chat with their seatmates for more interesting topics. They often show unpleasant actions that make their teacher mad. This results into low class participation and class meeting destruction. Students flunk in examinations afterwards. Teachers who hold these students lacks in ... what do you think?

Learning is critically influenced by learner motivation. Motivation is a process of arousing and sustaining the interest of an individual. It has two types: the Extrinsic and Intrinsic motivation. Extrinsic motivation results from positive rewards to achieve a target bahavior. Teacher can motivate their students extrinsicly by rewarding them good grades and items. Those things awaken their minds, get class attentions and boost class participations. On the other side, Intrinsic motivation is the use of encouraging statements. Teachers can motivate their students intrinsicly by saying praises like"very good", "great", etc. to them. Those words of course, if a student heard that, he'll think that his performance is well. He,then,will repeat those good things that he did. Teachers can also motivate the students intrinsicly by reading them stories, quotes, etc. before their discussions.

A classroom that is full of motivation is usually active and peppy. You can hear it via noise when you walk through the corridors of schools. The noise is created in a positive way. Maybe the teacher has given the students cool and interesting activities. You can also see if a student have so much motivations if he kept bragging about the activity after classes.
